Here at Lake Affect Magazine’s our goal is to embrace and salute local artists and their efforts. The artist showcase is a collection of artists that work is so mesmerizing that you truly dont want to miss it. The art we display from local artist is to show everyone how special these individuals truly are. And give them the recognition we feel they truly deserve!
Stacy Mayou
I was raised in Palmyra, New York where I met my husband. Jim joined the Air Force and we were able to explore the world, first being stationed in Maine then Florida, England, Kansas, Pennsylvania, and Connecticut. I received my BFA from the University of Maine, studying painting and photography. I have worked professionally in the Marketing Field and as a freelance graphic artist for over 30 years. We were able to return to Palmyra in 2021 and I am incredibly blessed to find myself in a position to work as a full time artist. Next to my family this is my biggest joy in life! Jim and I have three amazing children living wonderful lives who we try to make proud everyday!
I work mainly in pastel. I am addicted to their immediacy and vibrancy. Predominately a landscape artist, I believe there is beauty and magic outside. It embodies every happy memory I have, from my earliest to my most recent. It is my understanding of the universe.
