We want to Thank all of the participating artists again for your submissions to Lake Affect Magazine!

We received an unprecedented number of submissions and want to ensure that your artwork can be showcased in our community of artists and we are grateful to receive & review such a wide array of inspiring work created throughout the Western NY, Central NY, and Finger Lakes regions.

Lake Affect Magazine wanted to create a special space for the artists that we cannot publish in our upcoming issue, so we created an online gallery to showcase their work to our entire readership and viewership. This is an opportunity for exposure that we hope will also facilitate collaboration and community among artists.

Mark Fornalik

My principal hobbies for many years were biking and running, and I enjoyed sights you can’t see from a car window. In spite of working at Eastman Kodak Company for 23 years, I never learned photography. My attempts with point-and-shoot cameras ended up as boxfuls of snapshots, not works of art. I finally admitted that I needed help and signed up for classes with local professional photographer Jim Montanus in 2017. It worked. Jim demystified the key elements of the camera and photography. Photography gets me out of the house every day in all kinds of weather, because you never know what you’ll see when you have a camera in your hands.
